Understated Elegance

​As I scanned mySale-a-Bration rack last night, I was searching for what I wanted to use one last time before  Sale-a-Brationends on Saturday.  I picked up the Party Pandas, Amazing You, and even the Heartfelt Blooms, but nothing was calling to me.  It’s the paper…it’s always the paper!

I love, love, love these Springtime Foil papers!  With just a little bit of ink – or in this case, a LOT of ink – you can transform something that at first glance, appears just so-so, into something understated and elegant. They’re very heavy,and perfect for not only card making, but for 3-d objects, like bags and boxes.  The foils are in ​Gold , Rose Gold ,  and Silver, which means you can use a variety of ribbon and embellishments with them, too.

Base:  Basic Black, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Layer 1:  Silver Foil, 5 1/8″ 3 7/8″
Layer 2:  Spring Time Foils, Silver Stripe, 5″ x 3 3/4″
Layer 3: Silver Foil, 1 1/4″ x 4″, punched with Banner Triple Punch
Layer 4: Basic Black, 1″ x 4″, ​punched with Banner Triple Punch
Layer 5:  Whisper White, 5″ x 3 3/4″ (for inside)

1. Place a piece of grid paper on your work surface.  Using your Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad, rub it across the Springtime Foils Paper (Layer 2) in one direction, going with the direction of the stripes.  Immediately wipe it down with 2-3 tissues , removing excess ink.   Throw away tissues. Repeat two more times for perfect coverage. 
2. Stamp sentiment in VersaMark onto Layer 4.  Sprinkle with Silver Embossing Powder and heat set. Adhere Layers 3 &4.
3. Adhere Layers 1 & 2.  I used Tear & Tape Adhesive since I’m using heavy foil paper.   Add banners and wrap Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon around the edge, securing it in the back.  Add a second layer using the Gray Sale-a-Bration Shimmer Ribbon and tie with a knot. 
4. Adhere to base with Tear & Tape Adhesive ​.
