Tip of the Week: Try Out New Sketches

Do you ever feel like you get stuck in a rut? You’ve used the same card design for quite some time and you’re just tired of it? Or maybe you’d like to try something new, but don’t know where to start?  Maybe it’s time to search for some new sketches.

This week, there is a new sketch challenge on our team page.  Looking at this, you know it’s not my style, but I played along to stretch my own creativity.  I did add more layers behind the initial ones listed there because I like to frame things and make them pop off the page.  And, I was able to incorporate my product of the week, Life is Grand Stamp Set, too!  All in all, it didn’t turn out too badly.

So next time you’re stuck, search out some new sketches.  You can always come back to my blog and look through my daily tutorials.  Or check out the #CaseingTuesday Facebook page for ideas.   Or go to Pinterest and search for “Card Sketches”.   Then, feel free to post a picture over on my Facebook page so I can what you create.  I’m sure it will be amazing!

The overwhelming majority (like 100%) of you said you’d like to see another One Sheet Wonder on my Crafty Saturday Facebook Live tomorrow.  So, I spent last night creating a simple one for us to do together.  If you want to craft along with me, you’ll need: 

• 1 sheet of 12″ x 12″ designer series paper of your choice
•  ​8 coordinating card bases (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″)
• 2 sheets of 3 coordinating cardstocks
• 1-2 sheets of Whisper White
• Your Stampin’ Trimmer
• And a stamp set, adhesive, and embellishments
