Sweet & Simple:  Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper

Oh the pretty paper!  Imagine, opening a great big box of Stampin’ Up! goodies and seeing this Garden Series Designer Series Paper on the very top!  I tell you, there was a “SQUEEEEE!!” of delight when I saw it and both dogs looked at me like I’d lost my mind.  After all, what was there to get excited about?  There weren’t any treats in there for them!  And while I have access to being able to preorder (one of the awesome perks of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!), I have to wait until June 2 to be able to order ALL the new Designer Series Paper Stacks.

Let’s get back to my card for a minute.  This week, I’ve been in a creative slump.  Maybe it’s the weather.  Maybe it’s trying to get ready for my June 2 SUPER SATURDAY BOGO & CATALOG LAUNCH.  Maybe it’s trying to balance work and play.  I don’t know.  Whatever it is, I hope it passes soon!  I’ve got lots of ideas, but it’s hard getting them on paper.  (Ha!  You have to admit, that was kind of funny!)  

When creative slumps hit, I do two things.  First, grab the prettiest piece of paper I can find.  And then, I go to Pinterest and look at sketch challenges.  Like you, I love Pinterest, but sometimes, it feels very overwhelming and you start to feel like your work can’t compare.  So I don’t compare; I challenge myself to use a sketch to get the design going, but don’t look at other card samples.  It never fails to kickstart the creativity again.

Layer 1:  Night of Navy (it’s a new NEUTRAL!), 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
Layer 2: Whisper White, 5″ x 3 3/4″
Layer 3: Night of Navy, 5″ x 2 1/8″
Layer 4: Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper (available 6/2), 5″ x 2″

1. Stamp sentiment in Night of Navy onto Layer 2.
2. Adhere all layers to card.
3. Finish with 3 pink Artisan Pearls.
