Stamping Bee Color Challenge

Last week, I issued a color challenge to my Stamping Bee Team – create any card you’d like, using the the above color scheme.  I’ve had some new member join during Sale-a-Bration and I wanted to have some fun and welcome them to a team challenge.  I like color challenges because the sky is the limit as far as design.  I found this picture of peonies thought these colors were perfect for early February and Valentine’s day.

They key to color challenge is to use the color judiciously.  Too many colors can be distracting and take away from the image or sentiment.  I prefer choosing one to two colors, at most, and tying it together with a neutral.  I decided to go with the softest Powder Pink and headed right to my Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper.  But then, I couldn’t decide which pink pattern to use, so I used both:  flowers and spots!  If giraffes could have pink spots, I know this would be it!

Base:  Powder Pink, 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″
Layer 1: Basic Black, 5″ x 3 3/4″ 
Layer 2:  Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper, 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″
Layer 3:  Basic Black Scalloped Circle Die
Layer 4:  Whisper White Stitched Shape Framelit
Layer 5:  Whisper White 1/4″ Organza Ribbon
​Layer 5:  Glitter Enamel Dots

1. Stamp Sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Layer 4.  Adhere to Layer 3. 
2. Adhere Layers 1 & 2 and wrap with Organza Ribbon.  Fasten in the front with a knot. 
3. Adhere circles to base with dimensionals. 
4. Finish with Glitter Enamel Dots.
