Just look at those happy faces. There were 9 of us crafting together last night, laughing, chatting, and making cards. As I busily buzzed between two groups making sure everyone had what they needed, I was once again struck by the fact that card making is so much more than paper and ink. It’s about building community. This was a great group of ladies who already knew each other very well. But, it was still a time for laughing over shared memories, supporting others who were down or ill, and making plans for the future. One lady, who had really wanted to be there but couldn’t due to health reasons, even video chatted with us last night to see what we were doing!
I love hearing someone say, “I can’t wait to send her this card; it will really brighten her day”, or “I needed a birthday card for my husband. This is perfect!” But I also love to see people coming together to build and strengthen the ties that bind us all together.
