This weekend, the Hubs and I decided we’d drive to Charlotte and surprise the Lad and take him to dinner. This needed a bit of coordination between us and his girlfriend. We arranged to call her when we got to campus, and we parked right next to his car and waited until they came downstairs. The look on his face as he realized who was parked next to him was priceless! We went to Pike’s Soda Shop, a hip vintage soda shop and had a great time catching up on their winter semester so far.
Their specialty drink that night was Guinness and Coffee float. Of course, I had to try it. That is, I got to try it after the 3 others at the table tried it first. It was pretty good. Not every float comes with a ‘sidecar’ of leftover Guinness, either! The kitchen oops, and made two of them. The Lad and his Lady shared that one.

I never go empty handed, but since we were being spontaneous, I hadn’t planned what to take. Luckily, I had some Valentine’s treat bags that I’d made for my card class on Sunday. Each one held a Lindt Strawberries and Cream white chocolate truffle. Even the waitress commented on how cute the bags were!
That bring me to my video today. I was challenged by a group of demonstrators to start making and posting videos. It’s been on my “to do” list for quite some time and I realized, I just had to start. It’s not perfect; the hubs and I have some kinks to work out in regards to lighting and camera angle. But, it’s not bad for my first one. I hope you enjoy it.
