See a Silhouette Suite

This stamp from the See a Silhouette Suite bundle brings back so many memories. When I was a little girl, I could spend hours on the swing set.  I remember my sister and I swinging so high that the legs of our swing set lifted right up off the ground and Daddy had to anchor it down in case we pulled it over.  My grandmother told us stories of how, as a girl, she had swung so high, she’d gone clear around the top of the swing set.  Clearly questionable, but oh did we believe and try to emulate her!  I remember swinging at the park the day after high school graduation as a friend of mine and I contemplated the scary new rode ahead. And I’ll never forget the look on my 1st graders eyes when I raced them to the swing at recess on the first warm day of spring. “Miss Michelle…you can swing?”  It was pure joy to to play with them…plus, from that vantage point I could keep an eye on my mischievous 3rd grade boys, too. 

The pure innocence in this simple stamp plus the See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, full of rich, warm colors, evokes feelings of summertime and sunshine. Those carefree days we so long to capture even today.  If I could tell my younger self just one thing, it would be to ” Go confidently in the direction of your dreams” – and never lose the joy that you had swinging on the swings. 

Base: Mango Melody, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Layer 2: Basic Black, 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
Layer 2: See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, 5″ x 3 3/4″
Layer 3: Mango Melody Layering Circles Die
Layer 4: Whisper White Layering Circles Die

1. Adhere Layers 1 & 2 to Base.
2. Stamp image and sentiment in Versamark onto Layer 4. Sprinkle with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set with Heat Tool.  Adhere to Layer 3.  Add several dimensionals to the aback and add Whisper White Thick Baker’s Twine. Adhere to card.
3.  Finish with a Flower Faceted Gem.
