Today’s card features something old, with a new twist. Gold Foil Specialty Paper’s been around for a while, but have you seen the Gold Foil Edged Cards and Envelopes? When I first saw them, I was kind of bummed. They would have been perfect for my parents’ Gold Anniversary last year! They add that special touch of elegance for weddings, invitations, and yes, Christmas Cards. And don’t worry about mixing silver and gold. With its flecks of silver glitter, the new Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon adds another subtle, but sparkly layer.

Today’s Tutorial
Layer 1: Basic Black, 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″
Layer 2: Gold Foil, largest Layering Circle Die
Layer 3: Basic Black, Deer Die
Layer 4: Whisper White Scrap
- Stamp sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. (Note: The entire sentiment says “ “. If you stamp the whole thing onto a piece of Whisper White, you can trim just the “Merry” with your Stampin’ Trimmer. Or, you can use a Basic Black Stampin’ Write maker and just color “Merry” and then stamp. OR…you can add a piece of Washi or adhesive tape over the “ “ and “ “, ink up your stamp, remove the tape, and then stamp it on to paper. There are several ways to accomplish this masking technique. Chose the one that works best for you.)
- Wrap Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the bottom of Layer 2. Tie a bow and add it to the front with a glue dot. Adhere to base.
- Add Layer 2 to base.
- Add Layer 3 and 4 with dimensionals. (Be sure to use plenty of dimensionals on your deer. You don’t want him to sag!)
