One of the best things about Onstage are the Swaps. What’s a swap? It’s where you make multiple cards of one design to share with others. There are two types of swaps: general and organized. General swapping happens out in the hallway as we’re waiting to get in the ballroom or in the ballroom before the event and at lunch. It’s like a card swapping frenzy! Demonstrators carry totes of cards they’ve made over the last few months and walk up to everyone saying, “Are you swapping?” New friends are made as you ooooh and ahhhh over the traded cards.
Organized swaps are organized by theme. Maybe they’re birthday cards, get well, holiday, or 3-d. These focus on smaller groups of demos who sign up in advance to swap and take place at a prearranged time. I only participated in one organized swap this time, as it’s been a very busy fall between my day job and my Stampin’ Up! job. I chose to use the Follow Your Art Suite and stamped inside, “Let’s stay up all night and craft”! Perfect, don’t you think? My team of Stamping Bees met up with my friend Jennifer’s team, the Craftastics, for dinner after OnStage and had a ‘swap’ and steak dinner. We’d done this with them in Charlotte last spring, too, and it was good to see old friends and make new ones, too.
There will be plenty of information and photos coming from OnStage and the new Mini Catalog products. Let’s just say, I want it all!
