Yesterday, I was working on a custom order of thank you cards using the Cool Treats Stamp Set for our local State Farm agent, Sara Donaldson. It never even occurred to me that I was working on this on National Ice Cream Day!
I tried a new (to me) watercoloring technique that gives it a softer look. I’d seen this on technique on German demonstrator, Sylwia Schreck‘s blog, and I just loved it! There are 10 steps to each popsicle, but the effect turned out so well it was worth the extra time!
This card was my prototype. I hadn’t yet figured out which colors to use, and I accidently picked up Wild Wasabi instead of Pear Pizzazz for the lime popsicle. so it is a bit darker than I would have liked. And I added some additional fun by adding the same colors to the embossed background piece with my blender pens.
I can’t wait to try this technique out again. I’d really like to master it as it will make a great addition to my crafting portfolio.

We all love strawberries, don’t we? Except for those few unfortunate souls who are allergic to them, serving this luscious fruit is always a hit. Kids are particularly receptive to this little strange fruit who’s seeds grow on the outside and not within.
