This Mother’s Day, I wanted to make my mom something special. She’s done so much for me and been there with love and support through everything. Not once has she given up or told me I couldn’t do anything I set my mind to. Ok, well, she does laugh when I tell her I’m tutoring math, but she is realistic!
Last week, I decided I’d make her a card in a box. It fold flat and then explodes into life when opened. Only problem was, I didn’t know how to do it! Thank goodness for YouTube!.
The overall premise of the box isn’t hard. For me, it was knowing what to put inside that had me stumped. My first attempt turned out better than I expected, but it wasn’t quite what I was looking for yet. The hubs liked it and claimed it for his mother.
So, I waited a few days and thought about it. Then, on Mother’s Day (better late than never), I sat down to create this.
Adding the flowers with the Botanical Builder Framelits was exactly what I was looking for. And the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and a bit of Dazzling Diamonds Stamping Glitter on a few leaves gave it just the right amount of sparkle. I also used her favorite Birthday Bouquet paper to decorate the box.
I gave it to her at dinner last night, and it quickly became the centerpiece at our table. I’m pretty sure she liked it.
