This week, on Coffee & Cards with Michelle, we’ll be making a Mini Memory Keeping Journal. Make sure you watch all week to see the progress.
I was up at 4:15 this morning with the wind howling outside my bedroom window. Knowing we were under a severe weather watch, I just couldn’t go back to sleep. Severe weather (i.e. tornadoes) are scary enough during the daytime, but at night they’re so much harder to spot making it downright terrifying. So…after getting up and sending my son off to work, I had time to get in my craft room and start a project I’d been wanting to do for sometime: a Mini Memory Keeping Journal.
I love the idea of making your own book and had a friend who was really into making her own journals with mixed media way before ‘junk journaling’ was cool! I never knew how she did it! It looked so hard and I was pleasantly surprised when I found a tutorial from Lyric Lover Crafts on YouTube. She made it look so easy! So, with a little extra time this morning, I started playing and thought, “Hey…I could share my journal journey with you.”
For the rest of this week (except for #CASEingTuesday), we’ll be making this Mini Memory Keeping Journal together. The prototype that I demo in the beginning uses paper and products from the Come Sail Away Suite, but we’ll be making one using the Bird Ballad Suite. (I think I said Bird Banter in the tutorial. Oops!)
This project is great for using up paper from your ‘stash’. You’ve been holding on to that special stack of beautiful paper that’s just too pretty to cut up. Well, I hereby grant you permission to cut and use it up! And don’t throw out that chipboard backing – you’re going to need that, too.
Be sure to watch all week so you can make your own Mini Memory Keeping Journal.
