The holidays are in full swing at my house and I’m busy working on some last minute Christmas cards. Last minute crafting is easy when you have the Night Before Christmas Memories and More Card Pack.
We spend so much time in anticipation of the holidays, and then, when we’re in the midst of the holiday season, it would be nice to slow things down just a bit. This weekend we a Christmas brunch with my parents before they head to California to spend Christmas with my sister and her family, followed by a round of Christmas Cookie baking and decorating with the children next door.
This cookie baking afternoon has become a tradition between our two families that started when I was sad that my son was no longer home during the weeks leading up to Christmas. I was missing baking cookies with him, when my neighbor suggested I come over and join their fun. It’s fun to watch the kids get excited over sprinkles, colored icing, and all of the excitement Christmas brings. And the best part is we bake at their house. Her teenager does the dishes and her youngest vacuums the flour dust and spilled sprinkles. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.
What are your holiday baking traditions? Is there something you make that you look forward to all year?
