I’ll Bee Yours was the theme for the January 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit. Join 19 other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators and designers for creative alternative inspiration.
A few weeks ago, a memory popped up in my Facebook Feed with the very first Stampin’ Up! cards I’d ever made all by myself. They were shaker cards from a Paper Pumpkin kit. . I stood at the island in my kitchen, watching tv, and being creative. I remember how proud I was of them. I’d never made a shaker card before, and to me, they looked pretty good! Never mind the fact that some of the sequins leaked out when you shook the card, and I couldn’t really get the words to stick. The fact that I could follow directions and have a completely finished kit in just a short time was nothing short of a miracle! If you had asked me at the time to make an alternate project using the pieces found in a the Paper Pumpkin Kit, I think I would have cried. Be creative? I certainly didn’t have the confidence to think outside that Paper Pumpkin box!

You’ve come a long way, baby!
So when fellow demonstrator and friend, Andrea Tracy Tucker asked me to join A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop, I just had to laugh. After all, I get Paper Pumpkin so I don’t have to be creative. It’s the one time during the month where I get to relax and let someone else do all the design and prep work. However, always up for a challenge, I said yes. And I’m so glad I did! I’m having a blast coming up with new ways to use the Paper Pumpkin Kits. It’s made me realize there’s more to Paper Pumpkin than what meets the eye.
The January 2020 “I’ll Bee Yours” kit was especially dear to me. Since my team is the Stamping Bee, I couldn’t help but think of all the cute ways to use add the Bee Stamp and die cuts to team cards and projects. I’m having a special Queen Bee For the Day celebration for my team in April. You can bet I’ll be using this month’s exclusive Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set on some of our projects!
This month’s kit is extremely versatile. I used it to make my son a card and gift card holder for a wedding he attended last weekend (you can see the video here), and I’ll be using the remaining envelopes to hold pillow gifts at my upcoming Stamping at the Beach Retreat in March. But today, I made this darling Valentine’s card and coordinating gift box using the stamp set, baker’s twine, and sequined embellishments found in this month’s kit. I used some tone-on-tone stamping with the floral image background stamp, and punched the hearts out with the Heart Punch Pack from the 20202 January – June Mini Catalog.
What have you made with this month’s “I’ll Bee Yours” kits? Leave me a comment below. Want to learn how to make the gift box? I’ll be making one just like it on my Crafty Saturday Facebook Live. Pop over and watch!

Love your Valentines card! So pretty!
Thank you so much!
Love the pink and gray together . PS: I remember that shaker card kit!
Thanks, Candy. I like that it’s a bit non-traditional.
I remember the same kit. I also had problems with everything you did! I was ready to give up! I cried! Then my husband looked at them and said, your card is filled with air! How many people can send a card full of air? I sent them out. Boy, was I surprised? Everyone loved the idea their cards were filled with air! Funny, but true story!
What a great story! Thanks for sharing.
I remember that old Paper Pumpkin kit. I loved it because you could do so much with the scraps!
I love Paper Pumpkin scraps! You can be so creative with them!
