I woke up this morning to my Facebook Feed full of news about lunches packed, backpacks ready, and lots of smiling faces…and those were just from my teacher friends! As a teacher, I was like a kid on the first day of school. Full of anticipation, mixed with a little bit of dread and trepidation. Would the kids like me? Would they be nice? Would I be able to remember all their names? That was even more challenging when I was teaching middle school and high school. I remember when I first began teaching high school in California: 6 preps a day with a roster of 240 kids! That’s a lot of names to remember!
Now, I teach and mentor Montessori teachers and I get to sit back and watch them go off to their first days. The last few weeks have been full of emails and phone calls from nervous first year teachers who feel they are not yet prepared for the first day. I listen, council, and coach them thru their fears and I know, each and every one of them will go home exhausted, but happy with how their first day of school went.
So, to all my teacher friends out there…happy 1st day of school. You’re going to have a GREAT day!

- Stamp sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Layer 2. Adhere Layers 1-3 to base.
- Stamp apple onto Real Red and punch with Apple Builder Punch. Use the punch to also punch out the leaf and stem. Adhere leaf and stem to back of apple and adhere apple with dimensionals.
- Stamp inside sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Layer 2. Adhere Layers 1-2 to base.
- Stamp apple onto Granny Apple Green Designer Series Paper. Adhere stem to back of apple and adhere apple with Snail.
