Greetings from Sunny California

Ok…maybe it’s foggy…and rainy…and damp…and cold.  But you know what?  I’M IN CALIFORNIA!!!  Spending time with my sister and her family is just what I needed to beat the winter blah’s.   There’s no way to feel around my 9 year old niece and 5 year old nephew.   You may not feel blue anymore, but you will be exhausted!

Having spent the first 11 years of my life in Southern California, I absolutely fell in love with this pattern from the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper.  So much so, that I hadn’t cut it yet!  But, it’s not doing me any good just sitting on my shelf, so I took the plunge and chopped it up!  I”m not an orange person at all, but the combination of Tangerine Tango and Pool Party make me think of those amazing California Blues – the sky and the water – set against the amazing colors you get in the orange groves.  Sadly, the skies aren’t always blue, and the orange groves from my old neighborhood are all but gone.  Still, the colors on the card, along with the sentiment, are true.

Base:  Pool Party 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”Layer 1:  Tangerine Tango, 5 1/8” x 3 7/8”
Layer 2: Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper,
5” x 3 ¾”
Layer 3:  Tangerine Tango, Scalloped Circle
Layer 4: Pool Party, Scalloped Circle
Layer 5: Whisper White, Stitched Shape Circle

1. Stamp sentiment in Basic Black Archival ink onto Layer 5.  
2. Adhere Layers 3-5 and set aside. 
3. Adhere Layers 1 & 2.  Wrap with Peekaboo Peach 5/8″ seam binding Ribbon and tie a bow.  Adhere to base.
4. Add circles with dimensionals. and add a Pumpkin Pie Enamel shape. ​
