Since I was up early, I thought I might as well clean house a bit. As I was dusting, I came across this card I received from a friend. It’s message rang loud and clear this morning: Everything will be OK. It made me pause, breathe, and reflect on the beauty that surrounds me, the love of my family, and the depth of my friendships both near and far. The power of a handmade card is indeed amazing! Everything will be OK. A simple enough message, but knowing who sent it and the context and sincerity of her heartfelt message was enough to bring some peace to a tumultuous morning.
It’s only the 6th of April and it’s already been a crazy month. We started the month driving from North Carolina to Boston to visit friends and make new ones at the Stamp Your Heart Out Spring Retreat. Thirty two hours in the car round trip in 4 days, only to turn around to go to OnStage in Richmond this weekend. I plan on getting home around noon on Sunday and have a card class at 2 pm and Stamping Bee inspiration night at 4:30. Thankfully, I then have almost two weeks to prep for my Super Saturday on April 22nd. The afternoon will be my VIP Sale-a-Bration Celebration and that evening, I’m hosting a Bingo Night and BOGO sale. A craft fair and one more class finish out my month.
It’s funny because the universe must be trying to tell me something. When I opened up Facebook this morning, one of my favorite designers, Heather Stillufsen at Rose Hill Designs, had posted this:
Love the card! I’m a West Coast girl too, sometimes I think I prefer earthquakes since they’re over before you can get too worried!
Thank you, Lisa. I was just talking about earthquakes v. tornadoes with a friend of mine in California. I sometimes wonder if the warnings add to my worries, knowing there is the potential of destruction.
