Welcome to the It’s a Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. Wondering what else you can do with your Paper Pumpkin kits? Get inspired by alternate Paper Pumpkin projects from top demonstrators around the country.
Remember last Saturday’s Crafty Saturday Facebook Live? I promised I’d show you some alternate projects made with December’s Something for Everything Paper Pumpkin. My son commissioned me to make a Christmas present for my mother. He wasn’t sure what he wanted, but he wanted it to be something pretty as well as functional. Well, my mother is an avid reader and story-teller. And after some thought, I hit upon a gratitude journaling project using a Pressed Petals Journal from the 2019 annual catalog, along with a pretty bookmark, to use with the journal or put in her book. Using one of the card fronts from December’s Kit, along with some of the floral and gold foil sticker elements, I added some Terracotta Tile 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon and some Linen Thread to ‘tie it all together’. Then, I added sentiments from the Love What You Do and Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Sets. Would you believe the only additional cardstock I used was to make the sentiment labels on the journal? Everything else was from just one card from the December kit!
My mom loved it! The Lad explained it was a gratitude/story telling journal, and that she should write in every day to record what she’s thankful for or to write down favorite memories to reflect back on later.
Come see what others have made!

These turned out so pretty! There was no way that she couldn’t love that. The journal was a perfect addition to this kit. I love it.
