Every 2nd Sunday of the month, I host a card class. Due to the snow and ice last week, I had to reschedule. Not only that, I had to move it to my home, instead of my local venue. This meant, that once again, the Hubs had to move furniture around in the living room, so we could get the best lighting!
At my monthly class, we usually make 4 cards, or 3 cards and a 3-d project. Well, with the new Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs, I thought I’d give everyone a bigger taste of what’s new. I went all out and put out a card buffet of 8 different designs. I kept the designs simple, so everyone could work at their own pace, without a lot of instruction from me. But that didn’t mean we didn’t try something new! We all go to try out the new Peekaboo Peach Ombre Stampin’ Pad. That was a lot of fun! The Tasty Treats washi tape on the card background was a favorite, too!
We also got to try our hand and Paper Piecing with the Beautiful You stamp set. First, we stamped the image in Basic Gray on the Whisper White cardstock. Then, we stamped the same image in Basic Black onto Affectionately Yours designer series paper, and cut out just the umbrella. Finally, we glued the cut out piece right on top of the image on the cardstock. It really made the whole image just ‘pop’ with color!
Of course, there was plenty to drink, and I’d made a homemade cranberry orange bundt cake to snack on. Everyone had a great time, and several emailed me when they got home about how much fun they had and that they and their families loved the designs.
Would you like to join me for my next 2nd Sunday Coffee, Cake, and Cards? It will be Sunday, February 12th, from 2-4 pm at the Briar Chapel Clubhouse. Contact me today to reserve your spot!
