Celebrating the Holidays with the Stamping Bee

​Every 2nd Sunday of the month, my Stamping Bee team meets to have dinner and do some stamping.  Last Sunday, was no exception.  Well, with the exception that we met at the Carolina Brewery to celebrate the holidays, our friendship, and our love of crafting and stamping.   While not everyone could join us, we had a fabulous time together.  

When people ask me where I came up with the name “Stamping Bee“, they often wonder if it’s because I’m “busy as a bee” with all my stamping events.  Actually, while that’s not a bad guess, I took the word ‘bee’ from the 18th & 19th century idea of a social quilting bee cooperative.  A place for women-and men – to gather to socialize and share their stories and the lives while expressing their creativity.  It’s a place we come to lay down our burdens, unwind, uplift, support, and perhaps most importantly, to take an hour or two out of our busy lives for ourselves.  No matter how we’re feeling when we arrive, we leave feeling joyous and renewed. 

It is such a pleasure to have these strong, capable, and amazing women on my team.  I am encouraged by their stories and their lives, and I hold each and every one in my heart.  It is for this reason, I celebrate them and all of their accomplishments monthly at our team meetings and our monthly achievers celebrations. I really can’t wait to see what this coming year holds in store for all of us!

Dinner, by the way was awesome.  We were taken care of by two amazing young women, who didn’t mind that I needed an extra table or two for all of my crafting stuff.  And who accommodated my husband arriving quite late after working all day.  One of the girls was so grateful when I handed her a stack of thank you cards we’d all brought and signed.  I think she’s coming to a class soon, and bringing her mother!

We ate and laughed our way through fantastic night.   And no Stamping Bee event would be complete without a little stamping, right?   As we waited for our appetizers to come, we all made cute wine tags using the Half Full stamp set and  Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.   I think you could have a few of these on hand for any last minute holiday gifts.

We ended the evening with a card swap.  We each made 10 cards to swap and share with each other.  I think they turned out great!  I just love seeing all the different ideas everyone comes up with, don’t you?
