CASE-ing Tuesday #151:  Tropical Chic

Can you believe another week has come and gone and we’re already back to CASE-ing Tuesday?  And this week’s card is a loose interpretation of the CASE-ing Card.   First of all, the one in the catalog was all cattywampus, and you know how much I like straight, predictable lines.  Plus, I really, really, really wanted to use my new Tropical Chic bundle! This was one of my top 10 pics from the new catalog and I hadn’t even gotten to play with it yet! 

 I’m waiting on my order of Designer Series Paper.  It was supposed to be here yesterday, but the UPS man just waved at me as he drove by.  I even had gone outside to greet him, but he delivered a new lawn mower to my next door neighbor and got in his truck and drove away.  I was crushed!

Still, I just couldn’t wait any longer to use the Tropical Thinlets. ​  I grabbed a sheet of paper from the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper and got to work.  It certainly has a more subdued feel, but I really like it, and I hope you do, too.

Base:  Soft Sea Foam, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Layer 1:  Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper, 4 1/4″ x 3″ 
Layer 2: Fresh Fig, 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″
Layer 3: Mint Macaron, 3″ x 3″
Layers 4, 5, 6,: Crumb, Cake, Mint Macaron, and Soft Seafoam Tropical Thinlets Die Square, cut out with a Layering Square that’s just slightly bigger than the Thinlets die. 

1. Stamp sentiment in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink onto Base. 
2. Adhere Layer 1 to Base. 
3. Adhere Layers 1 & 2 and add to base with dimensionals.
4. For the thinlet layers, you will need to remove some of the leaf die cuts from inside each square.  
   1.  Soft Seafoam- remove long skinny leaves
   2. Mint Macaron – remove round leaves
   3. Crumb Cake – remove long skinny leaves
5. Adhere all 3 thinlet layers together with the Fine Tip Glue Pen along the edges.  Add to Base. 
6. Brush the Mint Macaron and Soft Sea Foam layers with your Clear Wink of Stella, to make them shine and sparkle from underneath.  It actually kind of makes it look like raindrops!
