CASE-ing Tuesday 129:   Peekaboo Panel Panda

It’s CASE-ing Tuesday!  And, if you’ve been following my blog the last few week’s, you’ll know just how much I love these Party Pandas from the Sale-a-Bration catalog!   I really can’t get enough of him and his little friend.  So, I was really excited when I saw that this week’s CASE-ing Tuesday Card featured this stamp set.  

I turned the orientation around, and instead of using the solid base of the front of the card, I created a little “Peekaboo Panel” to add a new twist and up the cuteness just a little bit. I also added a little extra confetti around the sentiment from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set  in the Occasions Catalog.  

I’d never done one of these Peekaboo Panel cards before, and it’s much easier than it looks. Here’s the inside – don’t mind the phantom hand in the corner.

Helpful Hint: Be sure to only put dimensionals on the top and bottom of the Panda rectangle layer.  If you put them in the middle, you’ll glue your card shut!

Base:  Marina Mist, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4 and the front embossed with the Polka Dot Basics Textured Embossing folder. 
Layer 1: Berry Burst, 4″ x 2 1/4″
Layer 2: Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper, 3 3/4″ x 2″
Layer 3: Whisper White, 3 1/2″ x 1 3/4″ 
Layer 4:  Whisper White, 5 1/4″ x 4

1. Stamp Panda onto Layer 3 with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Stamp Balloon onto a scrap of Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper and cut out with scissors.  Glue to balloon on Layer 3.  
2. Adhere Layers 1-3 and set aside. 
3. Trim off  1 1/4″  off the front panel of the base (landscape or lengthwise) and set aside for a different project.  The, trim off another 1 1/4″ in the same direction.  Align that piece with the front bottom of the card.
4. Add dimensionals to the top and bottom of the panda rectangle and carefully place it on the front of the base, making sure everything is straight. 
5. Adhere Layer 4 to the inside and finish by stamping sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Add some extra confetti around it with Lemon Lime Twist. 
6. Finish your project with some Adhesive Backed Sequins.
