Brusho is watercolor ink crystals. Stampin’ Up! packages them in a set of five colors: Brilliant Red, Moss Green, Prussian Blue, Yellow and Gamboge, a very brilliant red-orange. And let me tell you, a little goes a LONG way! For the first card we made at club, I wanted everyone to see just how far these amazing color crystals go, by using it with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen, a medium they had used before to water color. Sprinkle just a few crystals on a clear block and mix with your Wink of Stella, and use the color to paint inside the heat embossed image.
It creates a very stunning card, don’t you think? It was quite quick, and clean up was minimal. Just wipe your Wink of Stella on scratch paper until it’s clear again, and wipe up your clear block with a damp cloth. I’ve created a video to show you just how easy this Brusho and Wink of Stella technique can be.
Today’s Tutorial
Layer 1: ½ Delicate White Doily
Layer 2: Smokey Slate, 5 1/8” x 3 7/8”
Layer 3: Shimmery White, 5” x 3 ¾”
- Stamp large stamp in Versamark and heat emboss with Copper Embossing Powder.
- In two separate spots, sprinkle a bit of Brilliant Red and a Moss Green onto your Silicon Craft Mat. With your Wink of Stella, pick up some of the red and color the roses. Do one even layer, then go back and add darker highlights. Clean your brush. Then, pick up some green, and paint the leaves.
- Adhere doily far left center of base. Adhere the remaining layers.
