Berrylicious

Let me choose dessert and you’ll end up with the biggest berry dessert on the menu.  Move over chocolate; I love berries!  And it really doesn’t matter what kind.  From the sweet tart tiny huckleberry of my native Pacific Northwest, to the dark luscious Boysenberry hybrid of Southern California, I’ve never met a berry I didn’t like.  So, you can imagine my thoughts when I saw this berryliscious pattern in the Tutti Fruiti Designer Series Paper Stack. And just like a fruit salad, there’s a little something for everyone’s taste. 

And while the scientists and botanists around you will argue that strawberries aren’t true berries, while watermelons and bananas are – it’s true! – I’m going to stick with the layperson’s definition of berry, and like Alton Brown says, they’re just good eats!   And anyone who receives a berry card from me is the pick of the crop!

Base:  Real Red, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4′
Layer 1:  Night of Navy, 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
​Layer 2:  Whisper White, 5 ” x 3 3/4″, and die cut with the scalloped edge die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets
Layer 3:  5″ x 3″ Tutti Fruiti Designer Series Paper, Berry Pattern
Layer 4:  Scalloped Circle Tutti Fruiti Designer Series Paper, Berry Pattern (reverse side)
Layer 5: Whisper White Stitched Shape Circle
Layer 6: Basic Pack 3 Washi Tape
Small scrap of Whisper White

1. Stamp sentiment  in Night of Navy onto Layer 5.  On the same layer, stamp 3 strawberries in Real Red, leaving some space in between.  Top with Lemon Lime Twist stems.  Next, stamp the same berries and stems onto ta small scrap of Whisper White and punch out with the Itty Bitty Strawberry Punch.  Adhere with mini dimensional.  Adhere to Layer 4.
2. Adhere layers 1-3.  Cover seam of Layers 2-3 with Washi Tape.  Add to Base. 
3. Adhere circles with dimensional and finish with a Night of Navy Gingham bow.
