Beautiful in the Rain

When the winter blues have you down, grab your favorite yellow umbrella and spread some cheer.  It’s been pretty gloomy and gray here in NC the last few days and the Christmas forecast is calling for lots and lots of gray, rainy days.  It will be ok, though, since the Lad comes home tomorrow.  Live is just better when he’s home. 

This card features the new Beautiful You stamp set.  I wanted to keep the colors to a minimum so her umbrella and skirt stood out.  They’re colored with the Gold Wink of Stella glimmer pen to really make a shimmery pop of color.  It’s hard to see, but there is a background Watercolor Wash of pool party.  I stamped it off first on scratch paper so all that was left was just a hint of color.  

Cutting and Measurments
Card base:  5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ 
Layer 1:  Serene Scenery designer series paper 5 1/4″ x 4″
Layer 2:  Whisper White Cardstock 5 x 3 3/4″

Putting it All Together
1.  Stamp background Water Color wash in Pool Party.  Stamp once on scratch paper, then stamp onto cardstock (without reinking).
2. Stamp images in Black Archival ink.  Color umbrella and skirt with Gold Wink of Stella.
3.  Adhere Layer 1 to card base.  Attach Layer 2 with dimensionals. 
​4.  Add metallic sequin embellishments.
