I tried to catch the colors of the sunset by using my Aqua Painter dipped in in ink and then brushed across watercolor paper. Did you know you can watercolor with Stampin’ Up’s ink pads? Fill the Aqua Painter with water dip it into the ink. (I’ll post a short video later about how to do this). The weight of the watercolor paper keeps it from buckling from the water. Allow it to dry, and then stamp as normal.
For the Sunset, I used Sky Blue, Peekaboo Peach, and Blushing Bride. The sand, of course, was Sahara Sand, and I stamped the sandpipers from the Wetlands Stamp Set in Soft Suede. I cut the window out with the Hearth and Home Thinlet Dies, and trimmed my watercolor paper to fit just inside it.
I love this technique. And I know you will, too!
