A New Twist on an Old Classic

Something Old, Something New…I’m talking colors, of course  Today, I mixed to favorites which are carrying over into the new catalog – the Graceful Garden Stamp Set and Flirty Flamingo – with  two NEW colors – Granny Apple Green and Gray Granite. I’m over the moon that we have a green that can be used on flower stems, leaves, and other bright greenery.   Stampin’ Up! really has stepped up their color game and is totally on trend with the new colors that are coming out.  Not to mention the fact that they’ve totally rounded out the color spectrum, giving us even more choices when it comes to color.  I can’t wait to share this with you starting on June 2.

Speaking of something old…Did you know starting this Friday, all retiring stamp sets will be on a while supplies last basis?  Be sure to grab your favorite while there’s still time!   ***See below for a full list of retiring stamp sets.

Base:  Flirty Flamingo, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Layer 1: Basic Black, 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
Layer 2: Shimmery White, 5″ x 3 3/4″

1. Stamp Rose and Sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Layer 2.  With the lids closed, squeeze your Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Ink Pads to get ink into the lid.  Open case, and using a blender pen, pick up the color and add to rose.   Hint:  applying ink first to the darker outline on the rose will allow you to have darker shading where it’s needed and you can pull the color out into the image, getting lighter was you move away from the image. 
2. Add the background stamp in Gray Granite, stamped off twice before adding it around the perimeter of Layer 2. 
3. Adhere layers to base and finish with a double bow tied with Whisper White 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon. ​
