Sometimes, it’s the simplest things in life that mean the most. Our son is home from university for the summer – he just got home on Friday – and I wanted to spend Mother’s Day enjoying our time together. We went to the little town of Hillsborough and arrived just in time for lunch at a fun little gourmet pizzaria. It was a beautiful morning, with the sun shining and not a cloud in the sky. Of course, our table on the patio had no umbrella, and that southern sun quickly got hot! Then, we went for a 2.5 hour hike along the Eno River. Both the Lad and the Hubs took their camera and we enjoyed walking through the shade of the forest, looking for signs of wildlife and trying to identify the trees and undergrowth.
It was a lovely day. The Lad gave me a “49ers Mom” coffee mug and the Hubs gave me a beautiful pair of teardrop pearl earrings – and a beautiful card he just whipped up yesterday morning! It’s a simple, single layer card using the Rose from the You’ve Got This stamp set, and the sentiment from Dragonfly Dreams set. It brought tears to my eyes knowing I am so loved.
I hope you and the women in your life had a wonderful Mother’s Day.
