A little ribbon organizing

I can’t work in clutter.  I have to start each project with a clean work space, or I feel disoriented and I find my projects take at least twice as long as they should because I can’t find what I need.  Maybe it’s the Montessori teacher in me, but everything has it’s own space!

That’s why my Stampin’ Up! ribbon collection has been driving me crazy!  It always seemed to pile up, unravel, and worst of all, forgotten about.  And while I like the idea of hanging the spools on wooden dowels and mounting them on the wall, that can be a real headache when you want to take them down and try them on a project before you make a cut. So, when I found these two blue racks at Hobby Lobby, I knew I just had to get them.  I love that they’re just wide enough to hold all my spools, and I can thread the start of each spool through the rack.  The open design is great for letting me remove a spool and easily replace it as needed. 

I spend all weekend sitting at my craft table prepping for upcoming classes and making tons of thank you cards.  It was so cheery being able to see all my ribbon neatly displayed in front of me.
